Turning Blue
The collection draws inspiration from nature and traditional craft to reimagine familiar sartorial codes. Recognizable patterns such as herringbone and broderie anglaise are intentionally distorted, reflecting contemporary context while imagining a more hopeful future.
At the heart of the collection is a unique ‘distorted herringbone’ wool, designed in line with the concept and meticulously woven by the artisanal mill Woven in the Bone on Scotland’s northeast coast, with yarns supplied by Donegal Yarns in Kilcar, Ireland. The combination of Kilcarra Tweed and Soft Donegal yarns produces a naturally sustainable, 100% pure new wool textile, handwoven and sewn to last. Each garment embodies care, craft, and the enduring hand of the maker. The collection features deadstock boilersuits which have been collectected from vintage warehouses in Amsterdam, taken apart and remade into new garments. The unique blown-up borderie anglaise that was developed for this collection was emroidered into the denim and handcut to create a lace-on- denim effect, blurring the codes of traditional workwear and romantic decorative symbolism.
